Edible wedding favors are in-demand nowadays. One of these is fruit jam. In this blog post, I will teach you how to make strawberry jam! Are you excited?
Materials needed:

Direction:
Wash the glass jar in soapy water, rinse then sterilize. To sterilize, boil the jars and lids in deep stew pot covered with water for 10 minutes. Use tongs to move the jars from boiling water. Sterilize the tongs by dipping the end in hot water.
On the night before, clean, hull and cut the strawberries into half. Put the strawberries in a large bowl and gently toss through ¼ sugar. Place it in the fridge overnight.
Before cooking, place the 2 saucers in the freezer to chill. You will need this to test the setting point of the jam (if you do not have thermometer).
Mix the sugar, lemon juice and strawberries into deep saucepan and cook over medium heat. Stir gently until sugar is dissolved. But personally I like crushing the strawberries a little kasi it becomes more thicker. But DON’T mush them, para meron tayo little chucks of strawberries. It adds texture too and yung feeling the homemade talaga. Once the sugar has completely dissolved, increase the heat to boil until it reaches the setting point (105 degrees C). This usually takes about 10mins. If you do not have thermometer, spoon a little jam onto cold saucers. After 30 seconds, push the jam with your finger. If the jam wrinkled then it reached it setting point. If not, turn the heat back for 2 minutes and repeat the wrinkle test. Do this over and over until ready. Don’t forget to skim the scums that has risen on the surface.
